Anyone know what these would be worth? They are not running but wouldn't take much to get running. They are locked up in our barn out of the weather. My grandfather was the original owner and I would like to know what they are worth or know where to find out. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks@!!

If Gordey is too far away or not interested, I would be interested in the 550. I am in Virginia. What part of NC? Value would depend on condition. I do collect Olivers. Thanks in advance.

I am interested in a 440. Need to come to NC to pick up a 550 engine soon. Click on the Email if you like and send me a telephone number. Best wishes. Chris

Hello Eddie, I here in Greensboro. Give me a call and i will come by and look at them for you if you'd like. (512-3440)

(quoted from post at 19:55:04 03/29/10) Im a collector, i've got a lot of Olivers but im just to far away.
Since you are a collector, do you have any idea of what they would be worth? They have always been sheltered but haven't been cranked in a number of years. Can you let me know of an ideal value? Thanks

Keep at least one tractor of your grandfather"s. You will be sorry if you let them all go,,,,trust me.

Thanks for the advice. I have a guy that has been asking me about the tractors and I just need some info on them.

Ha Ha Eddie...asking the buyer what its worth is perhaps not your best course of action ;-)

Nuthin much is your answer

...ask someone who has one or look up old auction prices on google!

Just curious, why are you wanting to sell them. No interest? As you might tell from the responses, they are pretty desirable tractors, both of them. Don't sell yourself short, do some research and see what prices they have gone for in different states of condition. You can maybe check the history on ebay, or look at some of the Oliver magazines with auction results.

I have to say I agree with a couple of the statements made here. You probably will regret getting rid of both being they have been in your family. I really wish that I had been able to find one of my families tractors. Researching online what tractors have sold for and went for at auction probably is a good option. Thats how I find values alot of the time on tractors I am interested in or ask someone here that has no interest what it could be worth. I will say a 550 diesel running condition original owner only 2600 hours went for $3000 this past saturday at an estate auction in Greensboro, NC.

Thanks for all of your responses. I actually haven't thought about selling these until a neighbor who collects tractors stopped and wanted to buy them. I just was curious so I wouldn't get taken advantage of. I have tried to find some on ebay and the 440 is the one I am thinking might be more valuable then I thought. He has offered me $5000 for both of them. I appreciate your input because I really don't know where to start. I can't seem to find "values" on any of the sites I have searched.

First off if you are not hard up for the money think
long and hard about selling your grandfathers
tractors. I and my parents all the time kick
ourselves for not buying my grandfather's SMTA at
his estate sale. The 440 depending on condition I
have saw sold at auctions from poor conditions
around $4000 to Restored as high as $12,000. The 550
poor $1000 to good $4000. Don't be taken.

If you will give me a call or shoot me some pics of them at [email protected]. I will tell you pretty close to what they are worth. I Buy/Sell alot of tractors and I will make you a fair CASH offer if you still want to sell them. 931-212-3602
