Cockshutt 50 Diesel headgasket

I know the headgasket for the 50D is as rare as hens teeth. Mine blew today spraying antifreeze out of the block and hydro locked it. I hope when it did nothing was bent in the engine. However, it does turn over now that the injectors are pulled and the antifreeze is out. Isn't there a gasket that can be alerted to fit? Though it doesn't work that well?

Any suggestions what I should do?

I am still filling sick and discussed. But that's life when you play with old tractors I guess.

There's a place in the state of Washington, that makes headgaskets sorry I cant remember the name. Also the 230 Buda and the 262 Buda Engines are essentially the same except for the bore size. Yours is 3 3/4" and I think the others are 3 9/16.
Perhaps if you had a gasket from one of these other engines, you could send it to the company I can't remember the name of, and They could enlarge the bore, and put in 3 3/4'" fire rings.

I haven't pulled the head on it yet. Be awhile, I have a few other projects I am working on.

!!!!I hope when it did nothing was bent in the engine.!!!!!

If the engine was running when it locked, be sure to check out that rod for straightness.

No point in fitting new 'teeth' and having to find some more soon after. Even if the piston is only a tiny amount low in the bore, the rod could be practically unserviceable.

Matt, sorry for your dilema. Phil will be your best bet here as I have had no luck in finding any at this time. Irv
