Hey guys. I'm new to the forum, so if this breaks any rules, I'm sorry. I just got an 1951 Oliver 77 rowcrop for my 13th birthday. Runs nice,I love the 6 cylinder engine, but it has wiring problems. It will turn over, but even with the big gray switch to hyd., it won't start. We can only get it started by taking a wire with clamps, putting on end on the output (I think) of the amp meter(which still works, and it 58 years old!) and the other on the main hookup of the gray switch. If this is a common occurrence, please let me know, and if you can, help me fix it.
Thanks for any help.
P.S: some one replaced the generator with an alternator.
