1850 hydraulics

Need a little help with my hydraulics on a late model 1850.
When I bought it it only had remotes on the right side put a set of couplers on left side worked fine. But they seem to always have pressure on them very hard to hook up lines always have to shut tractor off and relieve pressure on remotes.
Then couplers started leaking past the ball noticed when activating right side would put pressure on left side remotes. With lines hooked up on both sides on field cultivator for lift and wings they work as they should.
It is a hydraelectric system the wires were cut when I bought it.
Assuming it's a valving problem can anyone lead me in the right direction?
Thank Al

I believe what you are describing is normal. I know my 1650 is the same way. Get yourself a set of Pioneer connect under pressure couplers. I was having similar problems and with those new couplers, I can connect the hoses with the tractor running.

Adam I have a set on the right side don't want spend $130.00 for another set until I know it is working properly? I have other Oliver tractors I know they are not easy to hook up but why is there pressure on left side when using the right lever? I put a pressure gauge in left remote and will pressurize using right lever?

Al

First of all the left side is the primary side. Hydralectric has nothing to do with it. Are you using double acting cylinders on both sides? You make another statement that makes no sense as there are check valves in there and they are pilot operating. How about a couple more details.
