I have three sections of pasture, each a bit less than an acre, and the one closest to the house had gotten pretty weedy last year. Time to plow!

Caught the sunset just right:

Got it all disced tonight, and hope to get seed down before we get hit with a week of rain starting on Monday…

Thanks for the nice comments, all.

Not many rocks in our silt-loam soil here in the Middle West! However, the farm goes back to 1914, so I do tend to dig up artifacts from time-to-time. Found a cast piece tonight that looked pretty old – not enough of it left to tell what it was off.

The plow does okay with this city boy-turned-farmer wannabe… had some trouble with depth control in a few places, and then while you're turned around in the seat trying to get that under control, the "direction control" issues start to creep in! :P
At any rate, it turned out really nice - will post a separate entry with a photo from running the drill this evening.

Ed my better half when she was younger won some photo contests and was very good at it. I showed her your photo she said you do have a eye and it. She says #1 needs to be in a frame and in the living room. I would enter it in some of the ag. photo contests that are out there. Are your furrows arched like mine are or as I tell folks its an optical illusion, LOL Very nice no matter, I can smell the soil and rain from here.

I love the first photo Ed. You've got an eye for photography. I'd say that's a calendar photo.

I want to know where all the rocks went.
Took SWMBO almost a year to get all the rocks out of the pasture here.
Of course that was doing it by hand lol

Beautiful country out there,
Good job plowing, looks like plows are turning ground over well.

At least you do not have to worry about a tree falling on your barn!!!!
