Sure do, I use mine all the time. They work great. Lots of options for watching TV program and movies. Most are subscription. My wife is an Amazon Prime member and gets access to much of her "chick" shows are part of the package. As a bonus I get to watch old TV shows and movies. Also, I like to watch machining videos on YouTube.

If you have a flat panel TV, make sure you get an HD version of the Roku.

Good morning guys . May I ask what is Roku ? It sounds interesting about being able to watch old movies & maching movies . It would help with the boredom of reruns . How does a person get it & how mush ? Thanks & Merry CHRISTmas , Ken

Hi Ken-PA

Check out the Roku web page

http://www.roku.com

Its a nice small box that lets you access streaming video over the internet and play it on your TV. Lots of things available, but most are by subscription like Netflix and Hulu. A lot old movies and TV programs are available on demand.

For me I use Amazon Prime the most.

I have had mine only a couple of weeks and love it!!

I use the Plex Channel for streaming YouTube videos to the TV..All you need is the Plex software on your PC and your Roku. You copy the YouTube link and E mail it to your Plex Channel. It appears full screen on your TV. I store old TV programs and Blooper clips along with movies..

Here is the How To link>>http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lf2TKXJ7UtA

Ken, you would no longer need the Monthly Dish/Cable Bills!!!!

The Roku has the netfix and hulu channels and other movie channels.

They have over 1,000 Channels and 31,000 movies..

I have an older TV (no HD) and bought the Roku LT for $49.

(quoted from post at 11:58:44 12/13/13) Ken , email me will you ? KCRISMANatpadotrrdotcom

Thanks for the hint on Plex Ken. I just tried it and it works like a champ.

I've been using myVideoBuzz to watch YouTube. It works great too, but is a real PITA to set up.

Thanks again,

Kurt

How well does it work with DSL? There's no cable w/in 1 1/2 miles of here and any air movement such as car driving past or wind blowing (or one you guys in another state passes gas) blows away this crap they send though the air and I end up with pixelated shows.
I do get 18 channels with a antenna made with coat hangers and a board

If you have internet service you can hookup with either an RJ45 cable or a WIFI router.

CAUTION: May be habit forming!! It's possible to sit down on the couch with a case of beer and lots of snacks and watch the entire run of your favorite shows!! (Don't ask how I know!!)

Working on my 'N' is the only rehab that worksfor me.

I know what you mean!! I spend time sending youtube videos to Plex, in the morning, and watch them later in the evening on the bigger screen!!

We had one I used mostly for netflix. It was a bit buggy and lost
the connection frequently - say once or twice a day - and I'd
have to go downstairs and reset the modem. this doesn't seem to
be a common problem though.

My understanding is the same wifi capability is now built into
most blueray decks. On the xmas sales you may be able to pick
one up for not much more than the Roku, and have one less
black box and nest of wires.

After year the power supply burnt out, as it happened to one a
buddy bought at the same time. Apparently they are notorious
for doing so; I replaced it with one from my box of old power
supplies.

I use the Roku App for the Kindle Fire, it works quite well. It makes channel management easy, much better than through the Roku itself. I Wish I had something similar for my laptop.

Thanks for the tip on Plex, I'm giving it a try. I can't quite get the Plex server working on my laptop.

I don't use the Plex Media Server..I don't know how or what it does..LOL

There is an app for phones..

For me and my wife, it was worth the $49 to be able to watch countless videos, from YouTube, on the TV screen!!
