2N won't run

I have a 44 2N that I couldn't get to run right. You had to turn the gas almost off at the sediment bowl for it to run, and the carburetor adjustments wouldn't work(I just rebuilt it). So I pulled the carb off my 9N and put on. It ran at extremely high RPMs, so I shut it off. I then adjusted it, and got the tractor to run perfectly, but only for about 30 seconds, and then it shut off and would not restart. Does anyone have any suggestions to what may be causing this?

Check your fuel flow
There are three filter screens one I the tank above the
sediment bowl, one in eminent bowl and one in the brass
elbow going into the carburetor.
Start by removing the 7/16" bolt on the bottom of the carb you
should get a stedy full flow if not you most likely have a
clogged fuel filter.

start at the beginning, 1st youll never fix your carb with a bad ignition, and it will do everything youve described. check your fire first ,if its good and strong, then move on.fire 1st,fuel second,at the proper time third. if your sure its a fuel problem, check for bad fuel,or water in gas. it doesnt take but a drop or two in one of these carbs to really mess with you.
