How can one remove an oil drain plug on a 2N that is extemely tight without hurting tractor or tracman? I have tried a big pipe wrench to no avail. Any ideas would be appreciated. tracman.

unless the head is completely round, a bi ppe wrench, and a jack with a piece of wood to support it should remove it.

if it is too round .. weld a big hex nut to it.. that will spin er out.

I use a chisel or wide blade screwdriver. Hold it at about a 45 degree angle to the outer rim of the plug and tap it with a hammer in a counterclockwise direction. That should start the plug moving.

Thanks for the tips. The square nut has not been rounded off yet so there is hope. Would it be safe to heat the drain plug first? Or is it to dangerous with oil in the engine. I beleive that the plug has not been off in a least 7 years. I would like to put in fresh oil before I try turning it over. tracman
