2N King Pin Rebuild

What are the tolerences on the front axle king pin in side diameter? This one is rusted and pitted. The bushing wasn't worn through to the axel so the axle isn't deformed, just very rusted. If I clean it up and replace the bushing I'm afraid it will be too loose. Has anyone ever had one machined for an insert with the correct diameter for the bushing?

I was told the OEM manufacturing tolerance on the axle pin prints is 1.749/1.748. That is important because the pin needs to be a "snug" fit in the bore of the axle support. Many if not most supports are twisted a bit so the bore isn't straight anymore making that tight spec a bit of overkill. The pin/bushing fit is pretty loose - probably .010 clearance or better.

I've had 2 axles bored and a new steel bushing made and welded in that returned the axle to the original id and I continue to run the replacement brass bushings. The machine shop did the work, the steel bushing was like .125 wall thickness and they heli arc'd it back in. The front axle is cast steel and welds very nice.
