My homade Snow Plow

Now that it has been tested I can show the plow mount I made for my 1952 8N. Works so good I might sell the one mounted on my truck.

I'm glad I'm not the only one that's thought of this. I haven't done it yet, but the thought has crossed my mind many times. We sold our old farm truck but kept the plow and I've been giving consideration to mounting it on my 2N.

I had the hoop and lift arm but the rest I had to make. Its raised using the test port so I can't use the angle cylinders, one of these days I'll put live hydraulics on it. I had to paint it since I put so much time into it, could have just mounted a mess onto the front that worked.

looks like an old Western/Meyers plow. used to have one on my jeep.

i'd be a little concerned about the front axle and radius arms, as it appears all the leverage from plowing is on those. if the trip edge catches something good, that could give you a headache in repairs. just saying.

hope it works with no issues.

I thought of that also so after that picture was taken I made some braces that bolt from a low point on the plow mount to under the rear axle.I had a FEL on it at one point so I used rear mounts from that for the braces.

Take a close look at the photo. Those radius arms are pretty bowed already. In fact, if he painted them gold, he could open a McDonald's!

i can't see if the radius arms are bent or not. i can see the front axle, which appears normal. the plow frame has several pivots, but the individual parts look straight.

Yes they are bent, they were like that before I added the mount to the front. The left side is much worse than the right,I have tried to take it off to straighten it but the front pin is broken off on the bottom and stuck.I tried all the tricks to get it out with no luck. There is no way to straighten it on the tractor because it is bent in as well.
This spring I think I might remove the axle and take it to a machine shop and have them press it out.

It sounds like you have braced it up well with your redesign. If you have a 12V system, maybe an electric hydraulic pump unit would be easier to adapt than live hydraulics for the angle cylinder. I see them cheap on Craigslist from time to time.

Good looking lash-up!
