2n lift pin

Recent purchase of an overall in shape 2n. Cleaned it up to find the right side lift pin (9N563) needing attention, left side in order. Only want to fix the problem at hand right now as the machine moves round bales for the horses. I have the manual and no problem removing the trumpet. Tthe pin is pretty lose. The Plate (9N562B)is free to move with the stud that secures it (other than the lift pin) broke off, Digging the broke stud out, although a PITA is no problem. My question is what should I expect with the trumpet? Will that hole "wholler" out enough to not let a pin live there? Just looking for experiences with one that is pretty lose and was in use in that fashion.

I see the resource for the parts, need the straight pin from the 9/2 not the tapered from the 8, gasket. Was just going to do it quick and dirty and not even reseal, brakes are sufficient.

Sorry for the long post, you fellas have been a great resource. I know you haven't seen it, and the pin turns so I can't get the lift arm off to get a better look myself, but in the boards experience, should I be hunting another trumpet? Thanks, Jim.

I have a trumpet. Near St. Louis. If you end up needing one (and I would guess there are a lot of them avial) and I'm convienent, send an email.

JLeus.......removing the axle trumpet with the brakes still installed is really just an excercise in mussle power. The real trick is gitting the cotter-keyed internal castelated nut tightened to 150ft/lbs and then re-installing the cotter key. You don't haffta remove the pin, the ball-joint arm, the external nut. (grab it with vise-grips) Its all INTERNAL.

tip: swipe yer new trumpet gasket with HOT water to relax it so it stretches over the 11-studs.

You should NOT need a new trumphet. .......Dell

Thanks again guys, I am just concerned that the hole in the trumpet the pin is in has been stretched.

Dell, you didn't sign off right .................. "trumpet miester" or "third chair trumpet puller" was in order. :D :D :D

Thanks again. Jim.
