The 2N I bought on my buddy's recommendation without doing the full J. Smith checkout (grumble, grumble, the things we do to maintain friendships) lifts the TR3 rake we picked up just fine when it's cold. But after dragging the arena, it would only lift the TR3 a couple of inches. I did find the fluid level was low (doh! shoulda checked it before I started! And I do plan to change all the fluids, because who knows what's really in there?), but topping it up only improved the sitch a little bit. I unhooked the implement, and the arms came right up.
So my first guess is that the oil was thicker when cold, and when warm was thin enough to flow around some seal or other. Or else it's a pressure relief valve problem. Given that it could lift the implement when cold, I don't think I'm exceeding the limits.
Any ideas, guys? Or is there no other answer but to pull the inspection plate and see what, if anything, is leaking? The tractor lives about 40 miles away from home, and there's no power on site, so it's a little tough to work on.
