Is it a 9N or a 2N?

A friend of mine has a Ford tractor we are trying to identify positively as either a 9N or a 2N. The serial number has been a source of confusion for us as compared to all the key differences of the two models. The serial number is "9N 20 9650". Notice the spacing between the "20" and the "9650" which is how it is stamped on the engine block. This would seem to indicate the tractor is a 2N, but the "9N" part of the serial number is confusing to us. The tractor has all the traits of a '46 2N such as a 3 spoke steering wheel, tubular radius rods, and hot-riveted rear hubs. If any of you experts out there can help us pinpoint what this tractor is would be greatly appreciated. By the way, the Ford hood emblem is missing, so no help there for a 2N.

In any cas it is a 2N probably build in 1946.
2n was a typr invented by ford during WW2 only for restrictions problems and control of prices.
All 2n have a N° witch start with 9N
The quality of stamped N° is due of quality of tools at this time.
Regards.
