Came across this air cleaner on a 2N for sale in Paynesville, MN this past Saturday. Never seen anything like it Is it an aftermarket?

Colin, MN

PS: Is anyone else having trouble posting pictures using the "img src" tag on the site lately? I keep getting an error from the auto-moderator.

My 41 9N has one too. Like others have stated it was a dealer add on.Mine is adjusable for height.

Adjustable as in the pipe is telescoping like a radio antenna?

Would the dealer cut a hole through the sheetmetal, or was there a hood ready made with the hole from Ford?

BTW, that"s a fine looking N you have there!

As said before, they were a dealer installed option for dusty conditions. I've seen several of them and it seems the stack height was a matter of personal choice, too. I've seen them tall like the one you're showing and I've seen them shorter, like just a couple of inches above the hood surface. And I've seen them in between, too.

Seen them on a few 9n,2n but can't remember ever seeing them on the 8n. They we're used in "dusty" type work. I've had (2).Look nice don't they.

That is a dealer option on the 9N-2N tractors.

It looks very much like the pre-screen from a small IH power unit.
