My NAA had a slight rear wheel wobble and I"ve found that the splines on both the axle and break drum are badly worn. Is it necessary to change out that axle and how big of a job is it? Possible to take the lazy way out and wedge some shims between the break drum/axle splines? Thanks for any ideas!

Scout..... ....yes, some have reported success with using hard metal banding straps as shims between the axle and the tapered hub splines. Most shim-stock is soft brass and pounds out. Usually, the axle splines are NOT WORN and the hub is all that needs replacement. ($50, cheap) Remember to torque the axle nut to 450 ft/lbs..... ....Dell
