Here is a photo of my tractor. I was told it is a '41 9N, but the serial # is 9N187440*. Does this look right? Or is it a 2N.

The big ugly front bucket seems heavy, which makes it easy to spin the back wheels. I guess just one of the back wheels has a fluid in it, which does not spin much. I may take off the bucket when not using so I can mow the woods easier (if it is eay to do)

Let me know what you think, I'll keep you posted on my new adventure.

Jim..... ...congratulations, you have the braggin' rights to a 1945 2N engine. ALL 2N engine s/n start with 9N.

And YES, you've just discovered the effects of weights center of gravity balance that frontend loaders cause. Check each rear tire for "water" by pressing on the valvestem when at bottom of rotation. Simple, eh?

One spinning rearwheel may or maynot be weight related, could be natural torqueing effect of the differential on tires that have little ag-bar tread for minimal traction.

Some figger out somesort of a FEL counter-balance scheme to hook to their rear 3-point lift to counteract the FEL weight for better traction and eazier steering..... ....Dell

So how do you put a photo on your post? Here is a link to my home page, maybe this will work.

After you post the picture, right click on the picture and go to "Properties". Then highlight the address shown and copy/paste that address into the bottom of the post labeled "Optional Image URL".

Good luck,
Dan
