I purchased a Linebach 7200 post hole digger. I have the PHD here and my 8N is 200 miles away. The specs on the PHD says that the output shaft is 2". Will this fit my 8N PTO or will I need to go to Ford NH for "something". If so....specifically what "something" will I need?

TIA
Terry

The key word is output - the input is driven by the pto and is 1 3/8 standard 540 pto on mine, the output is where you bolt on the auger.

I'd bet that they mean the shaft that the auger is attached to. That is about the size of mine - can't look since, like you, mine is 60 miles away.

You might like to see how I store my PHD.
There are two pictures of removing it from the tractor and one of it hanging in the barn.

eNjoy!

not familiar with that auger

there are two possibilities for PTO shaft diameter on 8Ns

Henry built it with a 1 1/8 splined shaft

Lots of 8ns have been converted over the years to 1 3/8 inch which is green tractor standard

If your auger has a two inch shaft doubt it will fit a catagory one three point which is what your 8N is

In any event I would measure before I hung out the plastic
