One day using my 1951 8n I was plowing snow. I made one pass and the blade lifted nomally. I then backed up and went to put the blade back down and it stayed up I couldnt even move the hydralic control lever. I then lifted on the blade to see if that would help but it didnt. I decided to push down on the blade and push down on the hydralic control lever and then something snapped and it went down. I went to plowing again but after a few feet it raised up about six inches. But if I put the position lever down it went all the way down. But in order for it to lift all the way up I had to put the position lever back up. HELP!!!!! !!

I would first make sure that you haven't accidently moved the mode selector lever to draft position.

If not then you may have a worn out cam follower pin that needs to be replaced.

Ice in the oil can cause all kinds of problems.

I had the same problem, don't force anything chances are you have water in the oil and it is frozen. Get the tractor in a warm place let it heat up for a couplke of hjours and then remove the three drain plugs and drain out the oil. Refill it with 5 gallons of kerosene, start the tractor and move the blade up and down run it for about 15 to 20 minutes. Shut off the tractor and drain out the 5 gallons of kero. Refill with 5 gallons of 80w - 90w oil...Good Luck
