Bought a NAA today with live power. But this one is manual not hydraulic. Did some checking and most of the numbers are the same as the unit that is in my 8N. I am guessing that this must be one of the very first units put in the NAA. If anyone has any information please let me know Thanks Tractor Rod

Interesting stuff. I have heard, on this forum in the past 2-3 years, of one or two rare 8Ns with live power PTOs. Presumed they were like the live power in our 1954 NAA back in the 50s. I did not know that there were live power PTO units on Fords without the little hydaulic pump driven by the Proofmeter cable drive to actuate the clutch. Presume your units are located behind the transmission and in the PTO rear-end housing just like the hydraulicly actuated unit on dad's NAA. Mike-Iowa
