Just what is the value of the Howard transmission today? I have one in a Jubilee and I have no tiller. So to use it I would have to buy a tiller(at least a 600 dollar investment). I cant use it to pull any stumps because it is not a grandma gear. To sell it I would have to split the tractor to take it out, a laborious job. So one of my questions would be, If I sold my tractor would it any value to it. It is "Fragile" so should I buy a tiller and spend several hundred dollars. Seems to me I have something that is hard to find but not worth much in the real world. How do you feel about this???

If you remove it you will have to get the shaft and bearing set/up to replace it. They are also hard to remove you have to remove a lot a parts to get to it. The other problem is the next person is also going to have to have his casting drilled and taped properly to mount the howard in the tractor. When I sold mine I also sold the Transmission housing with it which ment swaping out the transmission gears ect into the empty one. Not a project for the beginer to attemp. It dose not just bolt in like a Sherman dose. Mark H.
