In the pasture by my place there is an old "VanBrunt/Deering" Grain Drill. It was used in the past, I can vaguely remember it being utilized to plant/fertilize small grain crops. However, it has gone down since them, obviously. Only thing I can figger out is that it might be able to get fixed up to be a Yard Planter, and sold to Yuppies. (Might as well take advantage of them;)

Does anyone need any parts? There are several of those little drop-in "gear things", etc. Yep, that's an old ammo box on the tongue.

This is the back of it, the Old John Deere Logo can just be made out. The wooden parts are on their way out..might have to replace them with salt-treated boxes for the planter. Whaddya Think?? This unit is located in Westmoreland County Virginia.

I've been looking at drills for a while now.
The pretty folks want them painted up and nice before they'll give you $350 for a yard art/flower planter. The deer plot folks might give you a $100 for it if you can show them that it would still drill.
And then there's Ebay where you can sometimes get
some decent $ for the cast iron seed box ends, acre clock and/or steel wheels.
Too bad you couldn't keep it as a operable rig.
Some day there wont be any of them left.

I am 20 miles south of Charlottesville on the James River. Scottsvile is a tiny little town that time forgot in the corner of albermarle, fluvanna and buckingham counties. You are about 3 hours east of me.----Rob
