I went to change the oil and replace the filter in my 43 2N and the C3P Fram filter(got the number from the Fram book) I picked up won't fit the canister. The can looks like a 2N type and the C3P filter is the right height and diameter but it won't sit down on the stem far enough. The old filter looks like it has a cut out for the stem to slide up inside the filter slightly. Can anyone tell me what number oil filter I need or what I am doing wrong?

NAPA's filter number 1010 fits perfectly.

I contacted Fred Swann and he said I could use the picture , but he wasn't going to make any prints available because it was an early work and not up to his current standards. Anyway, the file got lost in the shuffle when I pulled the pages off the server and then put them back. Since then I crashed the hard drive, so I'll have to rescan the print to recover it. Here's a graphic that will have to do until I can repost. Now if I can just keep Tyman from adulterating it....

"Now if I can just keep Tyman from adulterating it...."
Chances of that are as about as good as me convincing the wifey that this tractor is worth all the time and money put into it.:-)
