Just got the rig back together. Previous symptoms were RAPID leakdown with clutch depressed. Replaced badly scored cylinder and old 3 ring piston with new cylinder and o-ring piston. Also replaced the pump relief and control valves. Lift will now hold a 6' back blade up for about 20 minutes with the engine off. Am running Ford hyd. oil from TSC. I see lots of guys talking about holding the impliment up overnight and this won't do it. I am wondering if the pump should be rebuilt next. Saw wear spots on the pump pistons while torn down. It also is bumpy sometimes coming up when engine is around idle. Ambient temperature is around 40 deg. F.

Thoughts??

Bob,
I think you may have a small internal leak.
I am no expert but that has never stopped me from giving my opinion..... ..... .
I don't think the pump has anything to do with how long the lift will hold up an implement.
After the pump pumps enough pressure to lift the implement, the implement is held up by trapped oil.
If the arms are lowering (even with a heavy weight)then oil is leaving the piston somehow. I really don't know much about a 2N system.
Maybe your control valve is worn.
I would call Don at just 8N's and talk to him. He will give you a straight answer.
Where are you located in Michigan?
I am in Washington, Mi.

I'm in Spring Lake, 40 minutes from Grand Rapids.

Thanks for the tip, I'll give Don a call.
