Drain the old oil at all 3 drain plugs, while your at your dealer get 2 new drain plug gaskets and 1 fill plug gaskets and a new shift lever boot, they cost very little, just put 4 1/2 gallons in then check level, if there is alot of buildup on the bottom it raises the oil level.

Thank You,

I knew it had a "134" in it but didn't know about the other "M2C" part. I guess the fact that the 5 gal. ran $13.99 explains why it only goes to "B" instead of "D". I tend to go cheaper and replace more often.

Thanks again,
Greg

The NH dealers say the 134 is correct. As Dell says, the manuals say use 90 wt. mineral oil, which admittedly isn't available everywhere. You can use GL-1 gear oil, available from most any tractor supply or NAPA, about $24 for 5 gallons, and it is the same as mineral oil as it does not have the additives. (Don't use GL-5.) The mineral oil is also available from Massey Ferguson dealers as M1103, as the TO-20 and TO-30 Fergie tractors use the same stuff. I think either way lubricates fine. Only real advantage to using the GL-1 / mineral oil over 134 that I have encountered is that it is thicker and doesn't leak past the seals as quickly, which can be important as you know. The advantage to 134 is that it might be more available in some areas and being thinner might make the lift quicker to respond in cold weather. My 2 cents.

Greg..... ..this question always comes up, check the archives for the continuing debate. Of course you could use the 63 year old Ford recommendation of 90wt mineral gear oil, if you can find it. It is NOT the same as 80-90wt oil which has "bad" additives. Its your 5 gallons dollars. I use M2C-134D..... ...Dell
