Most of its together. Tested the wiring for lights today and found something strange..
the two fronts that were on the tractor when I bought it worked fine but the rear light I bought later won't work? It is a 6 volt and has one wire coming from it..similar to the front lights. I just pulled a wire from the single strand and kind of bound them all into the spade terminal at the switch. The front ones working tell me I am getting power to all three.
Am I missing something? I think I did everything correctly and if you all confirm that I'll start looking for a bad connection Saturday. Could the new paint under the mounting bracket keep the light from grounding?
thanks in advance for the advice

tom

Yes new paint can do it. (No ground no light.)

Rust can do it. (No ground no light.)

Loose wire in your spade terminal can do it.

Are you sure you bulb is good?

Just thinking out loud.

Yes, most of the problems people have with lights, are ground problems. There has to be good metal contact where the lights mount to the fender and the fender mounts to the axel. I would not run the lights from the ignition switch. This is too much current for the feeble switches they have. Happy Motoring

No Clause I wired it to the light switch! But thanks for the info regarding the bare metal at the fender and where the fender contacts the axle. Thats one I had not thought of and with all that new paint..... ..... ....hmmmmm mmmmm mmmmm I always learn something on this board.

I had the same problem - ran a ground wire to the seat support bolt and rear light worked fine - only problem - is a bit ugly with the extra wires -anybody have a technique for hiding wires to the rear fenders?
