Here's a quick chronology of Ford tractors:
1939-1942: 9N
1942-1947: 2N
1947-1952: 8N
1953: Golden Jubilee
1954: NAA
1955-1957: "Hundred" series (600, 700, 800, 900)
1958-1962: "X01" series (501, 601, 701, 801, 901)

The "redbelly" paint scheme started with the 8N, therefore the uninformed will sometimes call any redbelly Ford an 8N. The cyclops center medallion started with the Golden Jubilee, therefore the same uninformed will sometimes call any Ford with a center medallion a Jubilee. The Jubilee and NAA were virtually the same tractor and many (informed and otherwise) will either one an NAA. But when you get someone calling it an 8N Jubilee NAA you can be sure you're talking to a non-expert. Here are some sites to help your research:
Smith's 8N page
N-Series.com
Vintage Ford Tractor Resource (for Fords 1953-1964)
There are others linked from this site if these don't do the job for you. Have fun with it.

It looks like your tractor is a 1954 NAA. Most of us prefer the Hyd oil to be the Ford 134. It takes almost 5 gals. You might try this web site if you'd like to learn more about the tractor.

Hope this helps. Link

The 8N was last made in 1952. Later in that year they came out with the NAA and for the end of that year and for 1953 it was called the Jubilee. It was the 50th anniversary model. It had an overhead 4 cyl engine unlike the 8N which had a flathead. After 53 it was no longer called a Jubilee, but just an NAA. I think it remained an NAA in 54 and I'm not sure if in 55 they went to the hundred series. ie: 600,800 etc. Unless the hood emblem has been changed, it would say Golden Jubilee if it is a Jubilee 53. If it does not say Golden Jubilee, it is probably an NAA. Assuming it has an overhead valve engine.
