A good while back, I read a posting about a source for buying limiting chains for my 9N. I had an old e-mail address which is no longer valid.
Anyone out there who can refer me to a source for limiting chains?
I wish I'd ordered 'em long ago, cause now I know you really do need them.

Many thanks!

Many thanks to all! Every reply was a winner and much appreciated.

Not only did I find the pre-made chains for cheap, but I think I'll invest in The ZANE THANG as well. He's almost in my West Georgia back yard anyway.

I'd build my own chains but I need to let some skin grow back on my knuckles. You guys have been there right? Got three + acres of grading to do as well and times a runnin short. Deer season is right around the corner too and got food plots to get in.

Again, many thanks!! Mike 'N Georgia

I have heard only praise for the 'Zane Thang' and recommend that you get one!
However, if you just want to get the weight off the lift arms while hogging etc., then chains are a good addition too.
If you are handy with a few simple tools, check out this old post by Ed Gooding. It will show you haw to make your own chains and it will be a darn sight more fun and satisfying than buying some.

Agreed. Zane Thang is worthwhile investment for a 9N/2N, however, I still use the chains for hogging large areas just to take the load off the hydraulic pump, which needs some attention and reminds me by some of the noises that come from it.

Ed, in his post, talks about the pins on the implements running out of room if you use stabilizer bars and chains--most farm stores stock longer pins and only take a couple of minutes to change and are not that expensive. I think I have changed most of mine just to make things easier.

Limiting chains is what you needed in years past. Now there is no need for them on the 9N and 2N lifts with only draft control because of my invention and marketing of the ZANE THANG position control device that can be added in about 15 minutes with a few common hand tools. If you want to learn more about it just visit the link below.
