What is the best approach on getting front lights for my tractor?

Should I purchase a new light kit or look for used parts? I want them to look as original as possible but work well. Where would you suggest purchasing?

Also, my tractor is the original 6 volt. Should I change this to 12 in consideration of the lights?

I don't have a problem with it being 6 volt. I kinda like the originality.

Thanks.

Dan

For my 2 cents leave it 6 volt. If its tuned and taken care of, there isnt a problem. How badly do you need the lights, if you can wait, get the right stuff (old) otherwise there are some nice looking parts out there.
The only real guideline is: Have fun/be happy

I was in the sam position with my 2N. I bought some new lights form Ncomplete. They were about 50 bucks apeice or so. I also bought a fused switch. I didn't feel like looking for originals, because every set I found was rusted and corroded. These lights look like originals, and work great. Plus they are new, and all I did was paint them. They come in 6V volt models. I bought a used work light bracket, and munted an extra one on the back. If I had to do it again, I probaly would have bought one of those rubber covered ones from central tractor for the back, only because they are cheaper.

I wouldn't switch to 12V. It's not worth the effort. I see so many troubles here on conversions. A properly maintained 6V system works fine. My 2N has started fine right down to subzero degrees. Good 6V cables are a must, as well as clean connections.

Good Luck
Steve
