Ford 8n transmission lever ID

Traded a guy some skid steer work for this non-running
Ford 8N. Did the 12v conversion, gave her a tune up and lo
and behold she fired up!!

My question isdoes anyone have a guess what kind of
transmission set up this thing has and know what this lever
is? Been researching and my best guess is a hi/low range??
Feels like there is a forward and back position. Its on the
right side by the shifter. There is nothing out of the norm on
the left side of the transmission, just that mystery lever on
the right. Thanks for any information, this is my first tractor
and couldnt be more excited!

Looks like it may be a HUPP unit. Did you do your 12V switcheroo job correctly? serial numbers mean relatively nothing. Go by if you have a front mount distributor or the later angle (side) mount distributor; that's what is important.

1-OHM CERAMIC RESISTOR USE IF COIL IS 6V ON A 12V SYSTEM:

If you have a 6V coil you need an external in-line 1-OHM resistor in the coil circuit. Discard the extra resistor if you swap 6V coil out for a verified 12V coil.

I hope I did it correctly, its wired up like the diagram you sent. I went ahead and got a 12v coil, didnt use the resistor and installed a new ignition coil resistor? (Still learning all the lingo). Fires right up, but Im not sure if its charging or not. The original amp meter is shot I think so waiting on a new one of those to arrive. Having a little problem troubleshooting the PTOi havent been able to get it to engage while running. With the tractor off I can spin it by hand when the lever is disengaged and the lift arms will move up. With the lever engaged the PTO shaft wont move and feels engaged but with the tractor running the PTO doesnt spin when the lever is engaged

You don't need the extra resistor if you have a 12V coil. That is the point. External resistor only needed if coil is OEM 6V one. Why do you think the AMMETER is bad? Is it eth original induction LOOP style or the newer screw terminal one? Better get the entire wiring setup verified first. Did you remove the Voltage Regulator when you swapped out the GEN to an ALT on your 12V switcheroo? N's don't have LIVE PTO. You must depress the clutch pedal first then shift PTO lever on or off. Try in both DRAFT and POSITION CONTROL mode. Best to get the ESSENTIAL MANUALS B4 you break something.

The picture with the arrow pointing to a pedal I think is a Dowden? foot feed gas pedal for when you do not want to use the hand throttle. I have only seen pictures of them. See if it is not connected to the carb?
