No tag to ID this,Im gussing it might be for a Ford.It is a M/S 2 1/4 on mounting studs c to c. 15 degree T plate, It has spots of red paint on it. 2nd ? It has no power needle jet or threads for one. Should it have a power jet. Came from an estate sale box,Thanks.

Curious why you still post that it has no power needle jet? Another poster said the main needle is the large headed screw and I clearly explained and linked a diagram to your post on this on the Ford board. Also warbaby replied that it is not for a Ford because the levers are on the wrong side in comparison with the air intake.

Looks more like a Massey Harris carb to me !even Minneapolis used them but the red paint is a give away. Plus Oliver used them.

I answered this on the FORD forum. It is a Marvel-Schebler carb for the FORD 800 & 900 Tractors used on 172 CID OHV engines.

How you got to be an Tractor Expert excapes me.Your reply---------- A quick web search for ..8n carb circuit diagram.. provided the linked article containing a MS ..circuit diagram.. There you can see the large screw head Mike pointed out as the main power needle is long and extends down to nearly the bottom of the carb bowl. For other Ford guys just by a quick glance the carb overhaul article looks like is pretty thorough.
8n carb rebuild article with circuit cut aways Read my ?s again. I can ask a ? on any forum I want. As you know I never ask about a 8N carburetor you made it up because you failed to read the ? correctly I. Tuck yourself under Tims wing and prepare to learn something.

Thanks Tim you came through again.I missed your reply on FORD forum as I have found that if I have ? like this I look for every bit of information I can find and if you read the first 3 replys (classic view)I got on the FORD forum is why I posted on the N forum too. The Tractor Talk forum was next. Thanks LB
