8n aftermarket hydraulic pump

Hope you kept the orignal to rebuild. Think pump is made same way as the pump on a 2N or 9N and that is very simple to rebuild but I dought if there was anything wrong with the orignal pump.

(quoted from post at 09:28:06 03/19/23) I just installed one on a early model 8n and wondered how long it would last.

Replacement parts may last a long time or they may fail quickly, that holds true for aftermarket or new OEM components. Life of your pump can be affected by proper alignment, proper relief valve setting, quality of the oil/fluid used, system cleanliness, and how much it is run. I don't see how anyone can tell you how long it will last. Chances are it will last for years, if the aforementioned maintenance items are taken care of.

I would be very interested in a future report. It is true that you can rebuild the pump on the 8N but the control valve cannot be replaced. My current control valve has what I would describe as cavitation marks and although the operation of the 3 point is adequate, I would like more precision if a new control valve/seat could be purchased.

Other than a broken/cracked castiimgvthat s rreally the only issue with rebuilding a used OEM pump. The rebuild KITS are the dame aftermarketparts as the complete new pump.

After I run this aftermarket pump a year I will get back on this site and share the experience whether it be good or bad.
