IH 8N Ford carb compatibility

Forum,
A friend gave me a carb that looks a lot like a Ford style carb. Problem is the carb has an 11 H stamped into it. Those are the only numbers stamped into the body of the carb. I am going to take it apart and see how similar the inner parts are. Possible this is compatible with my 8N Ford?? Any and all thoughts are welcome.

A photo would sure help!

NOT sure how you are getting ''IH'' from ''11 H''?

Is the center-to-center mounting hole distance correct for your Ford?

Is the gasoline inlet on the correct side?

Do the throttle and choke levers have ''balls'' at their end to match the linkages on the tractor?

Not good at pics on this site.
Will measure center to center this afternoon.
Throttle and choke have ball connectors and appear to match.
As far as stamped numbers/letters there is a 11 with an H below that. With it being painted red I guessed it was possibly an IH carb.
I disassembled the carb and it appears to be very similar to the carb on my 8N. It is in very good condition compared to my current 8N carb. The only missing part is the choke butterfly plate.
I have the shaft and screws and will fabricate a new plate out of a thin 1 1/4 in washer. Will keep you posted when completed.

If it is for an IH or other carb, it won't work on a FORD. You can start by measuring the two-bolt hole spread pattern on the carb flange mounting surface. Carbs were
designed for a specific engine size. The N-Series used a 119 CID block. When the NAA/Jubilee model came out it now had a 134 CID block and then in '54 the 172 CID
block so they all had different carbs too. FORD used Marvel-Schebler as their carburetor suppliers starting with the 9N tractor model. Their model numbers were ID'd
with the TSX prefix code. M/S supplied carbs to any others tractor makes like IH and JD. The '11' you see means nothing - it is simply a manufacturers code of some
sort. M/S cast recessed the TSX model into the bottom half of unit on a 'ping-pong paddle' type of cast boss at first, then went to a brass ID tag riveted on around
1948. The ID tag had the TSX unit model number and a date code stamp to designate the date the unit was manufactured. Models were different for different tractors and
some parts kits contain a lot of the same parts. But, just because they look the same, doesn't mean they are. Details like the hole spread for the mounting flange
matters, the Venturi size, and the float size. The The M/S carbs used on FORDS are listed in my list below. I have a Marvel-Schebler manual with all the FORD models
but no other make so I can't compare the specific part numbers to others used by the different tractor makes. If you want a copy, email me, Ithink I have my email
working now.

Will it work, possible, will it
work correctly..... Doubtful.
But.... We bought an 841 once
that was missing the carb, pulled
the carb off our 8n and using
vice grips to hold it on we got
the 841 to run! Lol. Heck, you
can put gas in a squirt bottle
and pump a little into the
manifold, with no carb, and might
get one to run.

I am still having email issues. Been down since NOV. Hoping to get fixed this week. Old PC died - Power Supply & Mother Board FUBAR. Bought a new/refurbished DELL but could not get my Outlook 365 to work with my server. Will let you know when all is well again.
