Purchased very early 8n.

My tractor friend purchased a very early 8n in pretty good shape. Has some surface rust but has potential. Serial number is 365. Is the early serial number a big
deal or would it have to be much lower number to be worth more than the average front distributor 8n. Mark

S/N #1 and all early ones, ten or more, were used in testing on actual FORD FARMS and are long gone. All units were dismantled and parts studied thru destructive testing. This was told to me by Mr. Harold Brock in 2006 per our conversation. IMHO, any early 8N s/n from '47 & '48 with a 5-digit or less s/n is worth restoring to all original. The early 8Ns had features that were obsolete by '49 and after. By April, 1950 many major changes were then made - side mount distributor, steering gear, new generator, to name some.
