generator mount 52 8N

trying to put the gen on my 52 8n. it has the left side gen. if I put the strap mount on with the engine side ears in front of the tractor mount the gen is too far forward, pulley does not line up. if I put I put the ears too the rear the adjuster hits the block, but the pulleys line up. I can't describe it any better. it must have worked before I took it all apart for painting.

Did you put the pully on backwards? The gap between the flange and generator should be minimal.

Common problem with the late 8N generators, even for rebuild shops.

When it's on correct it [b:b669a34dd6][i:b669a34dd6][u:b669a34dd6]"looks"[/u:b669a34dd6][/i:b669a34dd6][/b:b669a34dd6] kinda backwards

hanks, the pulley was on backwards. it must have been that way when I took it apart because I never took the pulley off. THANKS AGAIN
