Just acquired a 2N thats been setting in a garage for
over 20 years.

Question: No. 1 cylinder has no compression. Any advice
on trying to free valve(s) without pulling the head?

I would pull the valve cover and spray PB Blaster on the stems.
Then spray PB Blaster in the spark plug hole also.

Or your favorite rust buster solvent. :)
Then let it sit awhile.

Then turn the engine over and you can see what is going on with the valve train.

Welcome Newbie. Did you get all the ESSENTIAL MANUALS for your 'new' tractor? They are the best investment you can make and read religiously before operating or buying any new parts. There's much to learn and know like whether your system is using the OEM 6V/POS GRN electrical system or has it been switched out to a 12V setup. Electrical system is perhaps the most important feature on the tractor next to status of the engine. FACT to remember: 99.98% of all non-starting issues are due to incorrect wiring regardless if 6V or 12V. Included in the electrical system is the notorious FORD Front Mount Distributor - a mystery to many but it doesn't have to be once you know and understand how it works. There are archived posts here for virtually every topic since most all have been covered before and there are methods of what you must do restoring a vintage tractor back to life after setting for years -try a search. One good solution for cleaning and loosening parts is a 50/50 Mix of ATF and Acetone. Mineral Spirits are my GO-TO all purpose cleaning solution too. It's Petroleum based and will not do any damage to internal engine parts, hydraulic systems, and other components like carbs, gens, starters, govs, et al. Oh, yeah, and at the end of the day you can use it to fire up your BBQ grill because Mineral Spirits is the same stuff they use for Charcoal Starter-Lighter Fluid, 100%. Also same as paint Thinner too.
