I don't know what you mean about ...little trim 'wings' aftermarket and some distributors include those bolts but wherever you got this info it is wrong. Part
Number 2N-13022 Headlight Mounting Bolt was/is only used for mounting the headlights to the doglegs. The hollow bolt was never used on anything else including the
distributor. More bad/wrong info given somewhere but not from me; I only post the data facts. FORD TRACTOR Lighting Kits were never a factory feature from the Rouge
Plant or later Highland Park Plant until the 800 Model and then only headlights were standard. Lighting Kits were only a dealer optional accessory til 1954. The
headlight mount was to be on the doglegs with two punch-outs for them using the two original Winged Medallions, from 1939 until April, 1950. The wings had two holes,
one for mounting and one to mount the headlight on with. The wings were fastened onto the dogleg with a 5/16-24 x 3/8 hex bolt from behind the sheet metal with the
reinforcement bracket, p/n 9N-13102, and the 2N-13022 Special Hollow Bolt that fed the light wire thru and fastened with -20 Hex Nut and Lockwasher. In April 1950, as
a cost savings move, FORD obsoleted the winged medallion style and revamped the lighting mounts to a simpler round cup style, p/n 8N-13472, and now used a smaller,
square, one hole reinforcement bracket, p/n 8N-13102. The round cup was used on both the Left and the Right sides so no longer a need to have a dedicated LH and RH
part. The round cups were used up until the Thousand Series models in 1962. Note, too, that the doglegs also were revamped in 1950 and now only had one punch-out for
headlights. Early 9N doglegs had no punchouts. Many N-Owners never had headlights installed thus their doglegs may still sport the punchouts intact. I have all the
original lighting kit drawings, instructions, and spec sheets that came with the kits and nowhere else. If you would like a copy, my email is open. Also, FWIW,
lighting kits used the TAURUS Taillight from 1939 thru 1949. The taillight was then obsolete and FORD went to the DUOLAMP style taillight. I have a NOS/OEM TAURUS
taillight for sake if interested see PIX. I also have a NOS set of mint, NIB, OEM Tract-O-Lite headlights including the original Dearborn Motors part box from the
