Need Wire Routing, Wiring Diagram, Etc for 8n Restoratio

I am new to Ford 8n tractors (own and restored over 100 Farmalls) and am in the middle of restoring a 1950 front distributor Ford 8n Tractor with a 12 volt conversion. I've stripped the tractor down and am about to paint the chassis and sheetmetal. I want to be ready to go once its painted so no time is lost getting it back together. I feel like the wiring will be one of the first things aside from reassembling small components.

Does anyone on here have any good material on wiring location/routing and a good easy to follow thorough wiring diagram for an 8n front distributor with 12 volt alternator? I will be adding lights to the tractor also . Thinking about purchasing a factory style wiring harness from Brillman or ?? but I might just make my own for cost reasons. Not sure yet. Suggestions on where to get a quality factory style harness would be nice too.

Thank you for the info Bruce. I see he has nice wiring Pict-o-grams but what about pictures or a diagram showing the routing of the wires and how they are supposed to be ran and fastened?

(quoted from post at 22:01:10 08/23/22) For a 50 front mount I believe the 49 Ford Tractor Parts Book has what you need.

All I have for the parts books are what is found online on the CNH website. Is it there?

Search for 1949 May Ford Tractor Parts Catalogue.pdf should be the first result.

Anyway it is in the manuals section under parts on the other N forum which I cannot name or link to here.

Wish I knew of the other n forums. haha. Too bad you can't post it for newbies like us! Does the other forum happen to be a "Tractor Club for n tractors" (if you know what I mean) ? ;)

HiYa RT-
FACT: 99.98% of all non-starting issues are due to incorrect wiring regardless if 6V or 12V. If you are restoring you 8N why are you using 12V? Just curious, nothing
wrong with 12V, or 6V for that matter, just be sure you know how and why each works. Ya gotsta know the 6V system to wire it as 12V correctly. Get the ESSENTIAL
MANUALS and related documents like JMOR's WIRING PICTOGRAMS. OEM Manuals have all the 6V/POS GRN Wiring diagrams and JMOR has all the correct ways to wire these N's in
6V and 12V setups. 12V systems did not exist until the late 1950's Hundred Series Tractors with the release of the diesel models so there are NO earlier FORD TRACTOR
Manuals showing a 12V setup. You are aware of the FORD Front Mount Distributor, right? It muse be rebuilt, timed, and tested correctly and then mounted the RIGHT WAY.
If it gets forced down 180 DEG off, at power up it will bust the aluminum base and render it junk. New repro manuals are sold everywhere and OEM used originals as well
new unauthorized copies can be found on fleabay.
