Pictures of Shaun's wedges installed under the axle center to stabilize the engine from falling to the side when splitting the tractor.

Other pictures are bolts and wire to keep the front spindles from turning when the tractor is split. Bolts keep steering arm from turning to the rear, and wire keeps the arm from turning to the front.

I never gave them much thought just make'em up as I go. Usually about 5" long and 2-1/2" are so on the big end. I drive them in with a BFH.

I hauled a 2N in it had been about 3 years since it had been in my shop for a flywheel issue. When I rolled it off my trailer one of my HO-Made wedges fell out of the front axle WHOOPS : ) Yes they had stayed in there all that time. I don't think this was the first time this has happen I may try your big'N's.

I would not trust wedging stuff in a wide front but just make a splitting stand to go under the mid section. I have an angle iron frame about 3 feet wide with adjustable feet and bracing and just took the rear off a WD allis with narrow front. There is no way to wedge a narrow front but tractor is solid as it can be!!!Cleddy
