Did you notice right at the end, how thin the air intake to the carb inlet is?
I wonder how wide it is to get the area equal to the upstream and downstream stream area of the carb inlet and tube from air cleaner.

Yeah, I think that is an original Funk part for their conversions. If you are going to go all out on such a project, how hard would it have been to cut a section
outta the back of that gas tank to create some clearance?
