So i did somthing stupid

Do when i was restoring my battery tray i welded up the two homes for the battery hold downs someone jn the past had mounted the ground cable to one and had a wire clamp bolted to the otherand in my mind i thought that the PO had drilled them along with the 4 other 1/4" holes that were drilled along the sides. Well when i mounted and dry fit the battery tray it hit me that welded up those holes and now have no idea were they are supposed to be.

Can some one take a picture with a tape measure on theirs from the front coner to hole center so i can re drill mine.

Also ehat soze hole were they 5/16, 3/8?

Fyi this is on a 41 9n

Thanks,
Derek G

The measurements for a 9N tray are 5 7/8's inch Lengthwise from the throttle shaft bushing side edge to the center of the hole. The width from where air cleaner would mount is 6 7/16 (Center to center of the hole). The hole is 0.290", Which is a L drill (Letter drill). The closest fraction drill is 19/64"which is 0.2969"
Hope this helps.

The reason I measured from the back instead of the front was,
My box measurement from the front was an 1/4" difference.
Maybe it got bent over the 81 years of service.
Or could have been stamped crooked from the factory :)

Glad to help.
I can post more info if needed.

Sounds like you got it from here.
I welded holes up in my dash. :)
I hope that doesn't bite me
