Are the ends on the 3 pt lift arms the same size?
I need to weld new ones on the end that goes under the axle.
I replaced one on the back end already.
Thanks, Richard in NW SC

I had one years ago where the ball would pop off the arm. I took a couple of large washers and put them on the shaft and put the nut back on and it stayed on from then on

Good morning, Richard G and all: I have seen a quick repair done on lift arm that the ball end was loose: they cut the arm at the very end, and cut out a little of the arm, then bent the ends together and welded back together. Looked sort of ragged, but it made the socket smaller and the ball would not fall out, so the guy that did it was satisfied.

The are the same; Cat 1, as others have said. I replaced all four on my 1951 8N lift arms. Replacements were slightly bigger in cross-section than the arm itself, but presented no problem. MAKE SURE the length from eye to eye is correct; mine are slightly off by about 1/4", so the stay bars (to prevent implements from swinging from side to side, especially Bush Hog (tm) needed some slight hole enlongating to fit.
Proper preparation and good welding skills will ensure long life. zuhnc
