Howard Auxiliary Transmission In An 800 Series?

An 800 on Craigslist's has an unknown brand of roto tiller behind it. No lever on the tiller. Does 800 have the factory gearing or could it have a Howard in it?

a Ford 800/801 model will run a tiller, best if it has the 5 speed with live pto. I run a 72" with my 861. The 800 in the pic looks to have the 5 speed transmission.

Agreed, if the soil is not too tough.

First, hay baling gear, is rather slow.

Yes, a S-O-S is better, but a 51/61 will do it in many conditions.

hanks for responses.

None of the 4 or 5 speed Fords were optimum
for tilling. Iirc, a 5 speed Ford has a
ground speed over 2 mph at 540 rpm in low
gear. Will that do some tilling?
Yes. But for optimum tilling you want about
half that - or less.
To get a Ford that was suitable you want
either a Select O Speed or an 8 speed.
