Hydraulic oil

I have to replace the pto seal and I guess have to drain the oil ( 5 gals) its a 1950 ford 8n tractor, is there a special hydraulic oil weight I have to put in the tractor?

where is this inspection plate you mention on the 8n Ford, for checking hydraulic oil when filling?

It's the round cover on the right side where the dip stick is.

I caution you from just switching to the new M2C-134d oil versus the old SAE 90W gear oil. The new lighter oil may have better lubrications properties that really may not be needed in this old tractor. The lighter oil can find leak paths much easier and present issues with an old wore out pump IMO. Just make sure to make and educated decision on which one to go with. Some complain about the heavy oil in cold climates. I live in WI and use the heavy oil without issue.
