Jubilee #2 - Cracked Block

So my #2 Jubilee developed a water leak around the end of the block in the area where lower back freeze plug resides. Thinking I lost a freeze plug, I pulled the tin and steering box and replaced lower freeze plug that was definitely corroded. No problems so far - you CAN replace lower back freeze plug without splitting tractor. Put everything back together, started him up and found I have what appears to be a crack in the block from the boss where the lower plug goes in to around the corner on drivers side possibly. It appears that this has been repaired (welded/brazed?) in the past. Going to tear back into it, removing battery box and other peripherals so I can get a clear look-see and photos to get you all's thoughts. The block and head both have a pretty big "bolt-on" patch on the intake/exhaust side from others. My thought is that I have not much to loose to try and patch this new leak with some type of putty stuff. Tractor runs OK, no signs of water/oil mix. Any suggestions or insights appreciated. I will get photos later today and post. Thanks in advance!

I tore out enough parts to get a better look. Can or should I try to repair this by field repair? Thinking a good powered wire brush and maybe Devcon, Loctite, JB Weld or something better suited. Tractor has been majorly patched in the past..possibly where current leak is and a nice cobble job on the side. What do you all think?

I'd drain it and pop the plug back out. Clean and dry the inside and give it a coating of epoxy. I'd grind and clean the outside and give it a coating of epoxy also.

Have engine out of Jub if you need it for $100 in NJ 07838.
