Anyone have pics of the shifter, the pin, and the notch in the trans hat?
Mines all worn but it still works. Im just curious how worn it is and if I can somehow fix this down the road.

I was just looking at it while putting a new boot on.

So heres a pic of my wear. Im not sure about tearing into it and trying to get it welded up any time soon, but I know at some point I may have to.
There is no hole on the other side of the top cover like Ive seen in a few pictures.

Do you hear any ticking while running. If so that' the bottom of your shifter hitting the teeth on your second gear. I made a bushing as a temp until I got the chance to fix. Not mine but here's
a before and after. Email is open for the link.

Sorry, I guess I edited too much of my reply earlier.

No, it doesnt grind unless I push the shifter to the left in neutral.
Otherwise it still works just fine and shifts fine.
I just know that sometime in the future, its going to have to be repaired.
I did find a drawing somewhere that shows a .280 wide slot with the bottom of the radius at about .240 below centerline.

I know welding cast iron might make it worse and jb weld or metal putty may never stick and last. I might just try to turn a new pin to fit the larger hole.

Welding that would be no problem at all. Preheat it and go for it. You may get a little porosity but who cares, it doesn't have to be fluid proof. Just has to locate the pin

If I was more than a garage welder with a MIG, Id give it a try.
But at this point in time, I dont want to tear down half the tractor to take it to a professional.
