Radiator Shroud

I was thinking of purchasing a radiator shroud, I don't see them listed here. However there are venders on eBay. Has anyone had success with a vender and fitment? My fuel tank was an eBay item and I'm not happy!! Thanks. It's a 2N.

tried! Installed....no fit. Hammered, re-shape, re-try and then, hung the "$70 ornament" on the barn wall and carried on as we had for previous 20 years. :x

I agree with JMOR. I have several Ns. Some have a shroud, some don't. Aftermarket shrouds don't fit with worth a dang. Hint, a front mount without a shroud is
much easier to get to the front distributor.

Good evening, all: Last summer (2020) I was having problems with my 9N running hot will using finish mower. I bought a radiator/fan shroud, it was A LOT OF WORK to put on. Later found the 9N did not originally have a shroud. My only piece of good luck was that the 9N already had a replacement radiator, actually meant for an 8N, that was the only reason the shroud fit.

Some days are just blind luck!

I keep one original shroud around so I can use it as a pattern to make a aftermarket fit... It still a project to make a aftermarket fit.. GRRRRRR

A few years back I helped a friend put a shroud on his 51. It fit perfectly. Even the screw holes matched. I have no idea where he bought it. It really doesn't
matter if you buy aftermarket parts on ebay, amazon, or a on line parts store website. you are getting the same part.

My '49 8N doesn't have a shroud--it might have very well come new with one, but it's lacking that now. I flirted with the notion of adding one last year, but then I got to reading the horror stories of the aftermarket ones that have to be shaped/fitted with a degree of blacksmithing, & I cringed over the thought of destroying the fan blade over one that didn't quite fit. (Honestly, these would seem better if they were segmented & could be installed without removing the hood, gas tank, & radiator.)

I did install an after market shroud on my 8N51. I ended up cutting away about the bottom 20% and hammer molded the top 80% so the fan had clearance.

This site does sell the fan shroud. Here is a link:

Thank you, I must have overlooked it. It may be best that I just go with out. Fitment may turn in to a nightmare.

What model? The 9N and 2N never had a shroud. I'd buy from a reliable supplier and stay away from any ebay seller unless it is a used OEM one - they pop up all the time
on ebay for 8N and NAA.

Are you sure about that ,my '44 has always had one as best I know and we've been together a looooong time

You are correct sir. I was thinking early 9N with the non-pressurized radiator. Those never had a shroud. It was the 2N when the pressurized radiator came into play when they added a shroud. The shroud was Ford's way of trying to increase heat flow back to the operator in cold weather by forcing hot air back by the fan. Thanks for the heads up.
