Some had them, some didn't.

The 4-ring piston was designed to reduce oil burning. It didn't work. It actually increased oil burning because the lower ring increased wear of the cylinder wall.

That being said........

Unless you plan on using that tractor like it was used when it was new, you won't see a bit of difference in your lifetime.

If I had a choice, I'd go w/ the 3 rings in the unlikely event that the tractor actually did some real work around here.

oth 3 ring and 4 ring pistons are available, mine had 4 ring pistons. Look at the parts listings for pistons on here and you will see both.
