STARTER SWITCH 2N VOLTAGE

I was wondering if anyone can tell me the voltage going into and coming out of the starter switch. Thanks

Robde ,The switch on a 2N should have battery voltage going in and battery voltage coming out with starter cable disconnected and thumb button pushed.

Robde,Did you disconnect the cable at the switch or starter before test? Is the battery fully charged up? 4 volts? Is it 6 or 12 volt? It may be just a bad cable or connection or bad battery.

I had same voltage into and out of....after I replaced all leads from the battery, then connected ground at Starter..
Then my voltage dropped off........
Installed new switch and all is good......

(quoted from post at 21:11:58 03/04/21) i only have 4 volts coming out i guess the switch must be bad.

Remove both cables from switch and thorougly clean both studs and lugs on cables. Reconnect battery cable and leave starter cable disconnected. Repeat test placing probes on studs not cable lugs - voltage at starter stud should be same as voltage at battery stud.

Thanks i will give it a shot.

We don't all think the same, but for me, I would test my switch with a load (starter connected) and voltmeter measuring switch stud to stud & expect well below one volt.....just a small fraction.

Thats the difference between a professional and an amateur. But we think enough alike that I understand your reasoning.

TOH.
