Pretty sure this is a aftermarket replacement of some type, but is on the 52 8N that has been in the family since 53.

Doing a brake and clutch job among a few other things, and since its been sitting, thought Id make a pass at cleaning and overhaul the carb, but with a few options for kits, not sure how to pick the right one.

Looks like an aftermarket for sure, If it is running ok, I would clean the outside and leave it alone.
 
Looks to be a Tisco like this one or the ones sold at TSC.
Most of the parts in the kits will fit. Like this kit.
Some differences from the original that I recall are that the screws that
hold the halves together are metric and the float pin's a different size.
Of course, the material is completely different too, but they run Ok.
 
I would believe Tisco.

Not running ok after having sat. Not sure if related to bad gas in tank, junk in carb or just old.
 
Aftermarket carb for sure. How is it running now? I'd use fresh gas first before tearing it down and pull the brass elbow fuel inlet and clean the screen off, then see how it runs. If it ain't broke...I use the TISCO Carb Kit, p/n C546V and it has all the parts and never a problem. See nnalert
