8n ford hydraulic lift

put new o rings on top piston lift works good with engine sped up, will leak down when i trottle down speed up it will lift, what is the
problem?
 
What was the Hydraulics doing / how were they operating to cause you to do the work on the hydraulic lift ????

[is that the one thats on the rear bottom i replaced the one there had to drop pump to get to it???thanks for your help, guy in another post ask why i replaced o rings it quit lifting period thats why

ou still have a leak somewhere. Here are nine possible leak points.

A leak down when pump not running is not going to be the overpressure relief valve, but rather the check valve, if it is in fact a problem with the combination check/overpressure valve assembly. People always say overpressure, not always realizing that the unit referred to as overpressure valve actually contains both an overpressure and a check valve.

I can't figure why you had to drop the pump to replace the relief valve. I removed mine with a regular box end wrench. Of course I had the top cover off but also the round dipstick side plate. I reached in through that side plate hole with the wrench just fine.

The check valve did not come out with it. I reached down there with a pair of tweezers and pulled it out.
 
In the interest of accuracy, I want to retract this part of my previous post, "A leak down when pump not running is not going to be the overpressure relief valve, but rather the check valve, ...". A leak in either will let it leak down when not running.
